Inspiration
I’m drawn to painting contemporary seascapes because they allow me to capture the raw emotion of the sea and sky, transforming it into a dynamic interplay of abstract shapes and vibrant colours. My work explores how movement, emotion, and energy can be expressed through paint and how this can inspire a sense of wellbeing in those who experience it.
When I paint, I enter a heightened state of sensitivity and emotional connection to the subject. It’s a deeply immersive process, where I respond intuitively to what I see and feel. My hope is that viewers approach my work with a sense of curiosity and joy, discovering something unique in each painting that resonates with their own experience.
My practice is rooted in process, from initial sketches and colour studies to large-scale canvases and is constantly evolving. It often begins with time spent in or near the sea, capturing moments through photographs, videos, and quick studies that help me translate that raw, elemental connection into paint.
Acrylic is my chosen medium, and I’m passionate about pushing its possibilities. Layering colours, playing with transparencies and textures, and experimenting with bold palettes and geometric forms. These techniques allow me to recreate the intensity of my original emotional response and to explore new visual territories.
My work is for anyone who wants to bring colour and thoughtful energy into their home. It’s meant to spark conversation, inspire reflection or simply brighten a space.. Whether you’re new to art or a long time admirer, I believe everyone should have access to original, meaningful pieces that fit their style and budget.
Ultimately, my work is about discovery, both for myself and for the viewer. With each painting, I aim to create something vibrant and alive, a piece that not only reflects the world around me but reveals something deeper within.
