I am a contemporary painter based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, working from the landscape I was born and raised in.

My practice explores the relationship between place, memory and perception. I am interested in how a landscape becomes more than a physical location, how it holds memories, emotions and personal associations, and how our experience of a place changes over time.

I use vibrant colour, geometric form and layered composition to create paintings that sit between observation and abstraction. Rather than making literal representations of the Pembrokeshire coast, I reconstruct it through memory and feeling. Familiar elements of the landscape such as the sea, cliffs, paths, coves, horizon and changing light are reduced, rearranged and intensified to create a personal visual language.

My perspective is rooted in returning. After a career in commercial interiors, I came back to Pembrokeshire and began developing my painting practice from my garden studio. This shift has made me increasingly aware of how differently we see a place when we leave it, experience the world elsewhere and then return. The landscape I paint is therefore both familiar and reimagined, part remembered place and part present experience.

Colour is central to my practice. I use it not simply to describe what I see, but to communicate atmosphere, energy and emotion. Geometry gives structure to those experiences, while layers and marks allow the paintings to retain a sense of movement, imperfection and discovery.

I am interested in the space between what a place is and what it means to us. My paintings offer a distinctly personal view of a landscape, while inviting the viewer to bring their own memories and experiences of place to the work.

For me, painting is a way of asking how we see, and how the places we inhabit, remember and return to become part of who we are.
